How to Use

Dosage

Adults with chronic myeloid leukemia (CML) usually take 100 mg once daily. For other types of CML or acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL), adults usually take 140 mg once daily. Children's dose depends on their weight and doctor's instructions.

Method

Take the tablets whole at the same time each day, with or without food. Do not crush, split, or chew them.

Possible Side Effects

COMMON
  • Infections (bacterial, viral, fungal)
  • Shortness of breath
  • Diarrhea, feeling sick or being sick (nausea, vomiting)
  • Skin rash, fever, swelling in the face, hands and feet, headache, tiredness or weakness, bleeding
  • Muscle pain, stomach pain
  • Low blood platelet count, low white blood cell count (neutropenia), anemia, fluid around the lungs
RARE
  • Pneumonia, herpes virus infection, severe blood or tissue infection
  • Irregular heartbeat, heart failure, high blood pressure, cough
  • Changes in appetite or taste, constipation, heartburn, stomach inflammation, stomach ulcers
  • Skin tingling, itching, dry skin, acne, hair loss, increased sweating, blurred vision, dry eyes, depression, insomnia
  • Joint pain, muscle weakness, muscle stiffness, muscle cramps
  • Fluid around the heart, bleeding in the digestive tract, high uric acid in blood
  • Heart attack, inflammation of the heart lining, low blood pressure, asthma
  • Pancreatitis, inflammation of the esophagus or gallbladder, acid reflux
  • Anxiety, confusion, mood swings, dizziness, hearing loss, kidney problems
  • Memory loss, stroke, dementia, severe allergic reactions
  • Diabetes, low or high thyroid function
  • Bone problems (bone death, slow growth)

Important Warnings

  • Do not take this medicine if you are allergic to dasatinib or any other ingredient in this medicine.
  • Tell your doctor if you are taking blood-thinning medicines.
  • Tell your doctor if you have or have had liver or heart disease.
  • Contact your doctor immediately if you experience shortness of breath, chest pain, or cough. This could be a sign of fluid buildup in the lungs.
  • Tell your doctor if you have ever had a Hepatitis B infection, as this medicine can reactivate it.

  • Contact your doctor immediately if you experience unusual bruising, bleeding, fever, tiredness, or confusion, as these could be signs of blood vessel damage.
  • Avoid grapefruit and grapefruit juice during treatment.
  • Do not use Dasatinib Krka if you are pregnant or breastfeeding. Use effective contraception during treatment.
  • Be careful when driving or operating machinery if you experience dizziness or blurred vision.
