How to Use

Dosage

Adults usually take 100 mg or 140 mg once a day. The dose for children depends on their weight.

Method

Take tablets whole at the same time each day, with or without food. Do not crush or chew them.

Important

Your doctor may change your dose, but the highest starting dose for adults is 140 mg per day.

Possible Side Effects

COMMON
  • Infections (like pneumonia, herpes)
  • Shortness of breath, cough
  • Diarrhea, feeling sick, being sick, stomach pain, changes in appetite or weight
  • Rash, fever, swelling in your face, hands, and feet, headache, feeling tired or weak, bleeding, bruising, hair loss, skin problems (itchy, dry, acne)
  • Muscle and joint pain, chest pain, chills
  • Low platelet and white blood cell counts (neutropenia), anemia, fluid around your lungs or heart
RARE
  • Heart attack, irregular heartbeat, very low blood pressure, asthma, high blood pressure in the lungs, blood clots
  • Pancreatitis, stomach ulcers, trouble swallowing, gallbladder problems, reflux disease
  • Severe allergic reactions, anxiety, confusion, mood changes, fainting, tremors, vision or hearing loss, serious skin issues (blisters, peeling skin), kidney failure, breast enlargement in men, menstrual problems, bone damage
  • Stroke, dementia, seizures, slowed growth

Important Warnings

  • Do not take this medicine if you are allergic to dasatinib or any other ingredient in it.
  • Tell your doctor if you take blood thinners or have liver or heart problems.
  • Contact your doctor if you have trouble breathing, chest pain, or a cough. This could mean fluid buildup or lung problems.
  • If you've had Hepatitis B, this medicine might make it active again. Tell your doctor.
  • See a doctor right away if you have unexplained bruising, bleeding, fever, feel very tired, or confused. These can be signs of serious blood vessel issues.

  • Do not give this medicine to children under 1 year old.
  • Be careful driving or using machines if you feel dizzy or have blurry vision.
  • Do not eat grapefruit or drink grapefruit juice while taking this medicine.
  • Do not take antacids (stomach acid reducers) 2 hours before or 2 hours after your Dasatinib Avansor dose.
  • Tell your doctor if you are pregnant, might be pregnant, or are breastfeeding. Use effective birth control during treatment, and do not breastfeed.
  • Tell your doctor about all other medicines you take, as some can affect how Dasatinib Avansor works.
