How to Use

Dosage

The usual dose is one 800 mg tablet once a day, always with 150 mg of cobicistat or 100 mg of ritonavir.

Method

Take the tablet(s) with food and a drink, like water or milk.

Important

Do not take more than one 800 mg tablet per day.

Possible Side Effects

COMMON
  • Diarrhea
  • Feeling sick (nausea) or throwing up (vomiting)
  • Headache
  • Skin rash (usually mild)
  • Stomach pain or feeling bloated
  • Feeling tired or dizzy
RARE
  • Severe skin reaction with fever, swelling, and changes in blood tests (DRESS syndrome)
  • Liver problems like yellow skin/eyes, dark urine, or stomach pain
  • Diabetes (high blood sugar)
  • Pancreatitis (inflammation of the pancreas, causing severe stomach pain)
  • Muscle pain, weakness, or bone problems (like weak bones)
  • Heart problems, such as a heart attack or slow heartbeat
  • Kidney problems caused by medicine crystals in the kidneys

Important Warnings

  • Do not take this medicine if you are allergic to darunavir, cobicistat, ritonavir, or any other ingredients.
  • Do not take this medicine if you have severe liver disease.
  • If you get a severe rash, contact your doctor right away as it could be serious.
  • This medicine does not cure HIV infection. You must continue seeing your doctor regularly.
  • Do not stop taking this medicine without talking to your doctor first, even if you feel better.
