How to Use

Dosage

Typically, 600 mg of Darunavir Medical Valley with 100 mg of ritonavir twice a day, or 800 mg of Darunavir Medical Valley with 100 mg of ritonavir once a day. Doses for children vary by weight.

Method

Always take this medicine with ritonavir and food. Swallow the tablets with a liquid, such as water or milk.

Important

The maximum daily dose for adults is 1200 mg of Darunavir Medical Valley (if taken as 600 mg twice daily) or 800 mg (if taken as 800 mg once daily), always with ritonavir.

  • Muscle pain or cramps, muscle weakness, or osteoporosis (bone thinning)
  • Kidney problems, kidney stones, or difficulty urinating
  • Memory loss, balance problems, or depression
  • Shortness of breath, cough, or nosebleeds
  • Mouth sores, dry mouth, or constipation
  • Vision problems or seizures
  • Confusion or changes in mood
  • Changes in blood tests (e.g., for thyroid or kidney function)

Important Warnings

  • Do not use if you are allergic to darunavir or ritonavir, or if you have severe liver disease.
  • This medicine does not cure HIV. You must keep seeing your doctor regularly for check-ups.
  • Contact your doctor right away if you get a rash. Some rashes can be severe and dangerous.
  • Tell your doctor if you have diabetes, as this medicine may affect your blood sugar levels.
  • Report any signs of infection (like fever or swollen glands) or muscle/bone pain to your doctor immediately.

  • If you are pregnant, planning to be, or breastfeeding, talk to your doctor. Breastfeeding is not recommended for women with HIV.
