Daptomycin Accordpharma is an antibiotic used to treat serious bacterial infections of the skin, blood, and heart in adults and children aged 1-17 years.
Your doctor or nurse will determine your dose based on your weight and the type of infection. For skin infections, it's usually 4 mg per kilogram of body weight once daily. For heart or blood infections, it's typically 6 mg per kilogram of body weight once daily. For children (1-17 years), the dose depends on their age and infection type.
This medicine is given directly into a vein (intravenously). For adults, it's given as an infusion over about 30 minutes or as a slow injection over about 2 minutes. For children, it's given as an infusion over 30-60 minutes.
The medicine is usually given once a day. If you have kidney problems, your doctor might give it less often, for example, every other day.
