How to Use

Dosage

Your doctor will decide your dose.

Method

Swallow the capsule whole with a full glass of water, at least 30 minutes before lying down. Finish the entire course of medicine as prescribed.

Your doctor will specify your maximum daily dose.

Possible Side Effects

COMMON
  • Severe bowel inflammation
  • Diarrhea
  • Stomach pain

RARE
  • Vomiting
  • Nausea
  • Rashes
  • Hives
  • Vaginal inflammation
  • Severe decrease in white blood cells
  • Low blood platelet count
  • Severe allergic reactions
  • Taste changes
  • Sores or inflammation in the food pipe
  • Yellow skin or eyes (jaundice)
  • Severe skin reactions including peeling and blistering
  • Itching

Important Warnings

  • Do not take Dalacin if you are allergic to clindamycin, lincomycin, or any other ingredients.
  • Tell your doctor if you have or have had any bowel disease.
  • If you get severe, bloody, or long-lasting diarrhea during or after treatment, contact your doctor right away.
  • Tell your doctor if you have kidney problems or are taking other medicines that affect your kidneys. If you notice less urine, swelling in your legs/feet, shortness of breath, or nausea, contact your doctor immediately.
  • Tell your doctor if you are taking blood thinners (like warfarin) as Dalacin can increase the risk of bleeding. Also, mention if you take rifampicin, as it can make Dalacin less effective.
