Daktarin powder treats skin infections caused by yeasts and fungi on the scalp, face, body, hands, and feet (like athlete's foot), and helps with bacterial infections that appear with fungal rashes.

How to Use

Dosage

Apply to the skin twice a day.

Method

Wash and dry the infected skin area well. Gently rub the powder with your fingertips onto the infected skin area and its surroundings.

Important

Apply to the skin twice daily. If using Daktarin cream along with the powder, apply powder once daily.

Possible Side Effects

RARE
  • Burning sensation in the skin
  • Skin inflammation
  • Decreased skin pigmentation
  • Reaction at the application site, such as irritation, burning sensation, itching, or warmth at the application site
  • Anaphylactic reaction (a severe, life-threatening allergic reaction)
  • Hypersensitivity (allergic reaction)
  • Angioedema (swelling under the skin, especially of the face, lips, tongue, or throat)
  • Hives (itchy rash)
  • Contact dermatitis (skin rash or irritation when skin touches a substance)
  • Rash
  • Skin redness
  • Itching

Important Warnings

  • Do not use if you are allergic to miconazole nitrate or similar antifungal medicines, or any other ingredient in this medicine.
  • Stop use and see a doctor immediately if you experience signs of a severe allergic reaction (swelling of the face, lips, tongue, or throat; difficulty swallowing or breathing; itchy rash/hives).
  • If you are taking blood-thinning medicines (e.g., warfarin), stop Daktarin and contact your doctor if you experience unexpected bleeding or bruising.
  • Wash your hands thoroughly after using Daktarin, unless you are treating your hands.
  • To prevent the infection from spreading, use your own towel and often change clothes that touch infected skin areas.

  • Avoid contact with eyes.
  • Daktarin powder contains talc, which can cause breathing problems. Apply powder close to the skin to avoid inhaling it, especially when treating children. Keep out of reach of children.
  • If you have used too much Daktarin or if a child has accidentally swallowed it, contact a doctor or poison control center immediately.

Category A
