How to Use

Dosage

Your doctor will decide your dose based on your body weight, usually 0.10-0.30 mg per kg per day after transplant.

Method

Take Dailiport once a day in the morning, either on an empty stomach or 2-3 hours after a meal. Swallow the capsules whole with water right after taking them out of the blister pack. Do not swallow the drying agent.

Important

Your doctor will adjust your dose over time and tell you your maximum daily dose.

Possible Side Effects

COMMON
  • High blood sugar, diabetes, high potassium in the blood
  • Trouble sleeping
  • Tremors, headache
  • High blood pressure
  • Abnormal liver function tests
  • Diarrhea, nausea
  • Kidney problems
  • Severe stomach pain, chills, fever, nausea, or vomiting (could indicate bowel perforation)
  • Transplanted organ not working well
  • Blurred vision
RARE
  • Changes in blood cell counts (platelets, red or white cells), changes in blood clotting
  • Changes in mineral levels (magnesium, phosphate, potassium, calcium, sodium), fluid retention, high uric acid or fat in blood, poor appetite, high blood acidity
  • Dehydration, inability to urinate
  • Anxiety, confusion, disorientation, depression, mood changes, nightmares, hallucinations, mental disorders
  • Seizures, altered consciousness, tingling or numbness (sometimes painful) in hands and feet, dizziness, difficulty writing, nerve disorders
  • Deep unconsciousness (coma), brain hemorrhage, stroke, paralysis, speech and language difficulties, memory problems
  • Increased light sensitivity, eye problems, clouding of the eye lens, hearing impairment, deafness, ringing in the ears
  • Reduced blood flow in heart vessels, fast heartbeat, irregular heartbeat, cardiac arrest, weakened heart function, heart muscle disease, enlarged heart muscle, abnormal ECG, abnormal heart rate and pulse, fluid around the heart, chest pain, weakness, feeling faint, palpitations, breathing difficulties (like Torsades de Pointes)
  • Bleeding, partial or complete blockage of blood vessels, low blood pressure, blood clot in a limb vein, shock
  • Shortness of breath, respiratory diseases, asthma, lung changes, fluid around lungs, sore throat, cough, flu-like symptoms, acute shortness of breath
  • Stomach problems like inflammation or ulcers causing stomach pain or diarrhea, stomach bleeding, mouth inflammation or ulcers, fluid in abdomen, vomiting, abdominal pain, indigestion, constipation, gas, swelling, loose stools
  • Bowel obstruction, increased amylase in blood, acid reflux, slowed stomach emptying
  • Bile duct problems, yellow skin due to liver issues, liver tissue damage, liver inflammation, liver blood flow problems, liver failure
  • Itching, rash, hair loss, acne, increased sweating, skin inflammation, burning sensation on skin from sun exposure
  • Severe skin reactions (Stevens-Johnson syndrome or toxic epidermal necrolysis) with widespread pain, swelling, blistering or peeling of skin/mouth/eyes/genitals, hives, swollen tongue, spreading rash
  • Small skin bleeding due to clotted blood, increased hair growth, new or changing skin spots, color changes, wounds, or lumps (signs of skin cancer or Kaposi's sarcoma)
  • Joint, limb, back, and foot pain, muscle cramps, increased muscle stiffness, muscle weakness
  • Painful urination with blood in urine, painful periods and abnormal menstrual bleeding
  • General weakness, fever, fluid retention, pain and discomfort, increased alkaline phosphatase in blood, weight gain, abnormal temperature sensation
  • Multiple organ failure, flu-like symptoms, increased sensitivity to heat and cold, chest pressure, nervousness or unusual feeling, weight loss, thirst, falls, reduced mobility, ulcers
  • Severe reduction of red blood cells (pure red cell aplasia), hemolytic anemia (reduced red blood cells due to abnormal breakdown, with tiredness), and febrile neutropenia (reduced white blood cells that fight infection, with fever). Symptoms may include tiredness, apathy, unusual pale skin, shortness of breath, dizziness, headache, chest pain, and cold hands and feet.
  • Agranulocytosis (severe reduction of white blood cells with mouth sores, fever, and infections). You may have sudden fever, chills, or sore throat.
  • Allergic and anaphylactic reactions (sudden itchy rash/hives, swelling of hands, feet, ankles, face, lips, mouth, or throat making it hard to swallow or breathe, feeling faint).
  • Posterior reversible encephalopathy syndrome (PRES): headache, confusion, mood changes, seizures, and vision problems.
  • Optic neuropathy (optic nerve abnormality): vision problems, such as changes in color vision, difficulty seeing clearly, or narrowing of the visual field.
  • Opportunistic infections (caused by bacteria, fungi, viruses, and parasites): prolonged diarrhea, fever, and sore throat.
  • Abnormal heart ultrasound findings
  • Increased fatty tissue

Important Warnings

  • Do not take Dailiport if you are allergic to tacrolimus, sirolimus, macrolide antibiotics (like erythromycin), peanuts, or soy.
  • Avoid eating grapefruit or drinking grapefruit juice while taking Dailiport.
  • Do not breastfeed while taking Dailiport.
  • Do not drive or use machines if you feel dizzy, sleepy, or have vision problems after taking Dailiport, especially if you also drink alcohol.
  • Limit sun exposure and use high-factor sunscreen and protective clothing, as Dailiport can increase the risk of skin cancer.
