How to Use

  • Serious bleeding (like bleeding in the brain, from surgery, or coughing up blood)
  • Severe allergic reaction (like trouble breathing, dizziness, or swelling of your face or throat)
  • Severe skin rash or sudden skin changes
  • Stomach, intestinal, or throat ulcers or inflammation
  • Lower number of blood platelets (cells that help stop bleeding)
  • Lower number of white blood cells (cells that fight infections)
  • Yellowing of skin or eyes (jaundice)
  • Hair loss
  • Difficulty swallowing

Important Warnings

  • Do not take this medicine if you are allergic to dabigatran etexilate or any other ingredient in it.
  • Do not take this medicine if you have very severe kidney problems.
  • Do not take this medicine if you are currently bleeding.
  • Tell your doctor if you have any organ damage that could lead to serious bleeding (like a stomach ulcer or recent brain or eye surgery).
  • Tell your doctor if you are taking other medicines that prevent blood clots, unless your doctor has specifically told you to do so (e.g., when switching treatments).
