Dabigatran etexilate Glenmark is a medicine that thins your blood to prevent and treat blood clots in your body.
Usually, adults take one 150 mg capsule twice a day. Your doctor will tell you the exact dose, especially if you are over 80 or take certain other medicines.
Take the capsule whole with a glass of water, with or without food. Do not break, chew, or open the capsule, as this can increase bleeding risk.
The usual maximum daily dose is 300 mg, but your doctor may prescribe a lower maximum dose based on your age or other medications.
Suitable for older adults, with specific precautions. Consider renal impairment, age and body weight when determining the dosage. Consider potential interactions especially with other drugs that increase the risk of bleeding. (updated 19.9.2025)
