How to Use

Dosage

The dosage is determined by your doctor based on your condition and other medications. It is important to continue taking Cozaar as prescribed.

Method

Tablets should be swallowed whole with a glass of water, at about the same time each day.

Important

The maximum daily dose is 150 mg, taken once daily. This may vary based on the individual. For heart failure, the dosage is gradually increased to a maintenance dose as determined by the doctor.

COMMON
  • Dizziness
  • Low blood pressure
  • Weakness
  • Fatigue
  • Too much potassium in the blood
  • Too little sugar in the blood
RARE
  • Hypersensitivity
  • Angioedema
  • Inflammation of blood vessels
  • Very fast and irregular heartbeat
  • Stroke
  • Inflammation of the liver

Important Warnings

  • Tell your doctor if you have ever had angioedema (swelling of the face, lips, throat, and/or tongue).
  • If you experience abdominal pain, nausea, vomiting, or diarrhea after taking Cozaar, contact your doctor.
  • Cozaar is not recommended for children with kidney or liver problems.
  • Avoid taking potassium supplements or salt substitutes containing potassium without consulting your doctor.
  • If you think you are pregnant or become pregnant, contact your doctor immediately, as Cozaar is not recommended during pregnancy, especially after the first 3 months, as it can cause serious harm to the fetus.

Use in Elderly Patients

Category A

Suitable for older adults. Monitor renal function and potassium concentrations during the pharmacotherapy. Avoid concurrent use of NSAIDs. (updated 14.4.2025)
