How to Use

Dosage

The typical starting dose is 5 mg once daily. For people over 65, the starting dose is 2.5 mg once daily. Your doctor will decide the right dose for you.

Method

Swallow the tablet whole with a glass of water, preferably in the morning before a meal, at the same time each day.

Important

The maximum daily dose is 10 mg.

  • Fast heartbeat or palpitations
  • Severe itching, severe skin rash, blisters, or increased sensitivity to sunlight
  • Muscle or joint pain
  • Feeling generally unwell, chest pain, or fever
  • Swelling of arms or legs
  • Acute kidney problems or reduced urine output, changes in kidney blood tests
  • Changes in liver blood tests or yellowing of skin/eyes (jaundice)
  • Confusion or seizures
  • Dark urine
  • Stuffy or runny nose
  • Changes in blood cell counts (e.g., low white or red blood cells, low hemoglobin, low platelets)
  • Discoloration, numbness, and pain in fingers or toes (Raynaud's phenomenon)

Important Warnings

  • Do not take if you are allergic to perindopril, any other ingredient, or other similar medicines (ACE inhibitors).
  • Stop taking this medicine and see a doctor immediately if you experience swelling of the face, lips, tongue, or throat, or have difficulty breathing.
  • Do not use if you are pregnant for more than 3 months, or planning to become pregnant.
  • Do not take if you have diabetes or kidney problems and are taking aliskiren.
  • Do not take if you are using a combination medicine containing sacubitril and valsartan (for heart failure) due to increased risk of angioedema.
