How to Use

Dosage

One tablet daily.

Method

Take in the morning before a meal, swallow with water.

Possible Side Effects

COMMON
  • Low potassium levels in your blood.
  • Skin reactions (like rashes) for people prone to allergies or asthma.
  • Headache.
  • Dizziness.
  • Feeling of spinning (vertigo).
  • Tingling sensation.
  • Trouble seeing.
  • Ringing in the ears (tinnitus).
  • Cough.
  • Shortness of breath.
  • Stomach problems like feeling sick, throwing up, stomach ache, changes in taste, indigestion, diarrhea, or constipation.
  • Allergic skin reactions (like rash or itching).
  • Muscle cramps.
  • Feeling tired.
RARE
  • Changes in mood.
  • Feeling sad (depression).
  • Trouble sleeping.
  • Hives (itchy red welts).
  • Red spots on the skin (purpura).
  • Skin blisters.
  • Kidney problems.
  • Trouble getting or keeping an erection (impotence).
  • Sweating a lot.
  • More of a certain type of white blood cell (eosinophils).
  • Changes in blood test results: high potassium (goes back to normal when medicine is stopped), low sodium (can cause dehydration and low blood pressure).
  • Feeling sleepy.
  • Fainting.
  • Feeling your heart beat strongly or quickly (palpitations).
  • Fast heartbeat (tachycardia).
  • Very low blood sugar in people with diabetes.
  • Inflammation of blood vessels (vasculitis).
  • Dry mouth.
  • Skin being extra sensitive to sunlight (photosensitivity).
  • Joint pain.
  • Muscle pain.
  • Chest pain.
  • Generally feeling unwell.
  • Swelling in your arms or legs.
  • Fever.
  • Increased levels of urea and creatinine in your blood (shown in blood tests).
  • Falls.
  • Worsening of a skin condition called psoriasis.
  • Changes in blood test results: low chloride, low magnesium, increased liver enzymes, high bilirubin.
  • Flushing (redness of the face).
  • Less or no urine, or sudden kidney failure.
  • Dark urine, feeling or being sick, muscle cramps, confusion, and fits (seizures). These can be signs of SIADH (a problem with a hormone that controls body water).
  • Feeling confused.
  • A rare type of lung inflammation (eosinophilic pneumonia).
  • Blocked or runny nose (rhinitis).
  • Severe kidney problems.
  • Changes in blood tests, like fewer white or red blood cells, lower hemoglobin, or fewer platelets.
  • High calcium levels in your blood.
  • Liver not working normally.
  • Abnormal heart rhythm shown on an ECG.
  • Changes in blood tests: high uric acid and high blood sugar levels.
  • Nearsightedness (myopia).
  • Blurred vision, worse eyesight, or eye pain due to high pressure in the eye (signs of fluid buildup in the eye or a type of glaucoma).
  • Fingers or toes changing color, feeling numb, or painful (Raynaud's phenomenon).
  • Worsening of systemic lupus erythematosus (a disease affecting connective tissue).

Important Warnings

  • Do not take if you are allergic to perindopril, indapamide, other similar blood pressure medicines (ACE inhibitors), sulfa medicines, or any other ingredient in this medicine.
  • Do not take if you or a family member has ever had a severe allergic reaction with swelling of the face, tongue, or throat (angioedema), especially after taking an ACE inhibitor.
  • Do not take if you have diabetes or kidney problems and are taking a blood pressure medicine called aliskiren.
  • Do not take if you have severe liver disease or a brain problem caused by liver disease (hepatic encephalopathy).
  • Do not take if you have severe kidney disease with blocked blood flow to your kidneys, or if you are on dialysis or other blood filtering treatment.

  • Do not take if you have low potassium levels in your blood.
  • Do not take if you have untreated heart failure with severe fluid buildup and breathing problems.
  • Do not take if you are more than 3 months pregnant (it's also best to avoid in early pregnancy).
  • Do not take if you are taking or have recently taken a medicine for heart failure that contains sacubitril and valsartan, as this can increase the risk of angioedema.
  • Stop taking and see a doctor right away if you get very dizzy or faint due to very low blood pressure.
  • Stop taking and see a doctor right away if you have chest tightness, wheezing, or difficulty breathing (bronchospasm).
  • Stop taking and see a doctor right away if your face, lips, mouth, tongue, or throat swell, causing trouble breathing (angioedema).
  • Stop taking and see a doctor right away if you have severe skin reactions like a rash with red itchy patches, widespread rash, hives, severe itching, blistering, peeling skin, or mouth sores (Stevens-Johnson syndrome), or other severe allergic reactions.
  • Stop taking and see a doctor right away if you have heart or blood vessel problems like an irregular heartbeat, chest pain during effort (angina pectoris), or a heart attack.
  • Stop taking and see a doctor right away if you have weakness in your arms or legs, or speech problems, as these could be signs of a stroke.
  • Stop taking and see a doctor right away if you have severe stomach and back pain, and feel very sick (pancreatitis).
  • Stop taking and see a doctor right away if your skin or eyes turn yellow (jaundice), which can be a sign of liver inflammation.
  • Stop taking and see a doctor right away if you have a life-threatening irregular heartbeat.
  • Stop taking and see a doctor right away if you have a brain problem caused by liver disease (hepatic encephalopathy).
  • Stop taking and see a doctor right away if you have muscle weakness, cramps, tenderness, or pain, especially if you also feel unwell or have a fever, as these may be signs of abnormal muscle breakdown.

Use in Elderly Patients

Category C

Suitable for older adults, with specific precautions. Effectiveness is reduced in renal impairment. Consider risk of orthostatic hypotension and hyponatraemia and -kalemia. (updated 19.5.2025)
