Coprenessa is a combination medicine with two active ingredients, perindopril and indapamide, both of which lower blood pressure and together help control your high blood pressure.

How to Use

Dosage

The recommended dose is one tablet once a day.

Method

Take the tablet preferably in the morning before a meal, swallowed with a glass of water.

Important

Do not exceed one tablet per day.

Possible Side Effects

COMMON
  • Severe dizziness or fainting due to low blood pressure
  • Headache
  • Dizziness
  • Weakness or tiredness
  • Vision problems
  • Ringing in the ears (tinnitus)
  • Tingling or numbness
  • Shortness of breath or cough
  • Nausea and vomiting
  • Stomach pain
  • Taste disturbances
  • Indigestion, diarrhea, or constipation
  • Muscle cramps
  • Allergic skin reactions (e.g., rash, itching)
  • Low potassium in the blood
RARE
  • Chest tightness, wheezing, and shortness of breath (bronchospasm)
  • Swelling of the face, lips, mouth, tongue or throat, making it hard to breathe (angioedema)
  • Severe skin reactions, such as widespread rash, hives, blistering, or peeling
  • Heart problems (e.g., irregular heartbeat, chest pain, heart attack)
  • Weakness in arms or legs, or speech problems, which may indicate a stroke
  • Pancreatitis (severe stomach and back pain, feeling very unwell)
  • Yellowing of the skin or eyes (jaundice), a sign of liver inflammation
  • Life-threatening irregular heartbeat
  • Brain disease caused by liver problems (hepatic encephalopathy)
  • Muscle weakness, cramps, tenderness, or pain, especially with fever or general unwellness
  • Mood changes, sleep problems, depression, or confusion
  • Excessive sweating or impotence
  • Drowsiness or fainting
  • Very low blood sugar (for diabetic patients)
  • Inflammation of blood vessels (vasculitis) or dry mouth
  • Increased sensitivity to sunlight
  • Joint pain, muscle pain, chest pain, general discomfort, or fever
  • Falls
  • Worsening of psoriasis
  • Dark urine, nausea, vomiting, muscle cramps, confusion, and seizures (signs of SIADH)
  • Reduced or no urine output
  • Flushing
  • Acute kidney failure
  • Stuffy or runny nose (rhinitis)
  • Eosinophilic pneumonia (a rare lung inflammation)
  • Changes in blood cell counts (e.g., low white or red blood cells, low hemoglobin, platelets)
  • High calcium in the blood or abnormal liver function
  • Abnormal ECG results
  • Changes in lab values (e.g., high uric acid or high blood sugar)
  • Eye problems (e.g., blurred vision, eye pain due to high pressure/fluid buildup)
  • Worsening of lupus erythematosus (a connective tissue disease)
  • Discoloration, numbness, and pain in fingers or toes (Raynaud's phenomenon)

Important Warnings

  • Do not take if you are allergic to perindopril, indapamide, other ACE inhibitors, sulfonamides, or any other ingredient in this medicine.
  • Do not take if you or a family member have had a severe allergic reaction with swelling of the face, tongue, or throat (angioedema) during previous ACE inhibitor treatment.
  • Do not take if you have severe liver or kidney disease or are on dialysis.
  • Do not use if you are more than 3 months pregnant. It is also advised to avoid it during early pregnancy.
  • Do not take if you have diabetes or kidney problems and are taking aliskiren for high blood pressure.

  • Do not take if you are taking or have recently taken sacubitril/valsartan (for heart failure).
  • Talk to your doctor before taking this medicine if you have heart failure, other heart problems, kidney problems, or liver disease.

Use in Elderly Patients

Category C

Suitable for older adults, with specific precautions. Effectiveness is reduced in renal impairment. Consider risk of orthostatic hypotension and hyponatraemia and -kalemia. (updated 19.5.2025)
