This medicine treats high blood pressure in patients whose blood pressure was not controlled enough by perindopril alone.

How to Use

Dosage

The usual dose is one tablet daily.

Method

Take the tablet whole with a glass of water, preferably in the morning before a meal.

Important

Your doctor will determine your maximum daily dose, especially if you have kidney disease.

Possible Side Effects

COMMON
  • Headache, dizziness, spinning sensation (vertigo), tingling or numbness in hands/feet.
  • Changes in vision, ringing in the ears.
  • Cough, feeling short of breath.
  • Upset stomach, nausea, vomiting, stomach pain, taste changes, indigestion, diarrhea, constipation.
  • Muscle cramps.
  • Skin rashes, itching, feeling tired.
  • Low potassium levels in the blood.
RARE
  • Feeling down or anxious, trouble sleeping.
  • Skin rashes, hives, increased sweating, or skin being very sensitive to the sun.
  • Problems with erections (impotence).
  • Changes in blood tests (like potassium, sodium, blood sugar, liver tests).
  • Fast or irregular heartbeats.
  • Dry mouth.
  • Joint or muscle pain, chest pain, general unwell feeling, swelling in your arms or legs, fever, or falling.
  • Dark urine, confusion, muscle cramps, or seizures.
  • Sudden kidney problems or less urine than usual.
  • Blurred vision, worsening eyesight, or eye pain caused by high pressure inside the eye.
  • Worsening of a disease called lupus.
  • Fingers or toes changing color, feeling numb, or painful (Raynaud's phenomenon).

Important Warnings

  • Do not take this medicine if you are allergic to perindopril, any other ACE inhibitor, indapamide, other sulfonamides, or any other ingredient in this medicine.
  • Do not take if you have ever had severe swelling of the face, tongue, or throat (angioedema) after taking an ACE inhibitor, or if this condition runs in your family.
  • Do not take if you have severe liver disease or a brain disease caused by liver problems (hepatic encephalopathy).
  • Do not take if you have severe kidney disease or are on dialysis.
  • Do not take if you have very low or very high potassium levels in your blood.

  • Do not take if you have untreated or uncontrolled heart failure, especially if you have severe fluid build-up or breathing problems.
  • Do not take if you are more than 3 months pregnant. Avoid also during early pregnancy.
  • Do not take if you have diabetes or kidney problems and are taking a blood pressure medicine containing aliskiren.
  • Do not take if you are taking or have recently taken sacubitril/valsartan for chronic heart failure, as it increases the risk of angioedema.

Use in Elderly Patients

Category C

Suitable for older adults, with specific precautions. Effectiveness is reduced in renal impairment. Consider risk of orthostatic hypotension and hyponatraemia and -kalemia. (updated 19.5.2025)
