Confidex

Confidex corrects the blood clotting mechanism by replacing vitamin K-dependent clotting factors II, VII, IX, and X, and is used to prevent or treat bleeding when these factors are deficient.

How to Use

Dosage

Your doctor will determine the exact dose based on your weight, the severity of your condition, and the bleeding.

Method

The product is dissolved and given as an injection into a vein.

Important

Your doctor will determine the maximum daily dose, typically not exceeding 2500–5000 IU per single dose, depending on your INR value and weight.

Possible Side Effects

COMMON
  • Blood clots forming in blood vessels.
  • Headache.
  • Increased body temperature.
RARE
  • Hypersensitivity or allergic reactions.
  • Excessive clotting, potentially leading to severe bleeding.
  • Severe allergic reaction (anaphylactic reaction), including shock.
  • Formation of circulating antibodies against one or more clotting factors.

Important Warnings

  • Do not use Confidex if you are allergic to the active substances or any other ingredient in this medicine.
  • Inform your doctor if you have an increased risk of blood clots, have had a heart attack, liver disease, recent surgery, or if you are a newborn.
  • Do not use if you are allergic to heparin, which can cause a decrease in blood platelet count (heparin-induced thrombocytopenia Type II).
  • If you experience severe allergic reactions (like breathing difficulties or dizziness) during use, stop the injection immediately and contact your doctor.
  • Confidex should only be used during pregnancy or breastfeeding if clearly necessary and advised by your doctor.
