How to Use

Dosage

Your doctor, experienced in treating clotting disorders, will determine your dose based on your condition, weight, and the specific clotting factors you need, and their levels in your blood.

Method

Cofact is given into a vein (intravenously). The recommended rate is about 2 ml per minute.

  • If you take blood thinners (vitamin K blockers), you have a higher risk of blood clots, and Cofact may increase this risk.
  • If you have a genetic lack of a specific clotting factor, use a product that contains only that factor, if available.
  • Stop the infusion right away if you have an allergic reaction.
