How to Use

Dosage

Adults: 2.5-5 ml three to four times a day. Youth 12-17 years: 2.5 ml three times a day.

Method

Shake before use. This medicine is for temporary use. Drink plenty of fluids to make the cough medicine work better.

Important

Do not exceed 20 ml per day for adults or 7.5 ml per day for youth.

Important Warnings

  • Do not use if you are under 12 years old.
  • Do not use if your doctor has told you that you are an ultra-rapid CYP2D6 metabolizer (your body converts ethylmorphine to morphine very quickly).
  • Do not use if you are breastfeeding, as ethylmorphine and morphine pass into breast milk and can cause life-threatening symptoms in infants.
  • Do not use if you have a hereditary fructose intolerance (due to the sorbitol in the medicine).
  • Do not use if you are allergic to the active substances or any other ingredient in this medicine.

  • Cocillana is not recommended for adolescents aged 12-17 with impaired breathing function for cough symptom treatment.
  • Talk to your doctor or pharmacist before use if you have any lung disease.
  • Talk to your doctor or pharmacist before use if you have a gallbladder disease (e.g., gallstones, inflammation of bile ducts).
  • Talk to your doctor or pharmacist before use if you have coronary artery disease.
  • Talk to your doctor or pharmacist before use if you have a deficiency or complete absence of the CYP2D6 liver enzyme, or if its activity is very high.
  • Concurrent use with sedatives may increase the risk of drowsiness, breathing difficulties, and coma, which can be life-threatening.
  • Avoid alcohol consumption as it may increase the central nervous system effects of ethylmorphine.
  • Do not use during the last trimester of pregnancy or during delivery, as it can cause respiratory depression and withdrawal symptoms in newborns.
  • This medicine can cause drowsiness and impair your ability to drive or perform tasks requiring sharp focus.
