How to Use
Dosage
One 75 mg tablet.
Method
Take by mouth, with or without food, at the same time each day.
Important
One 75 mg tablet per day, unless your doctor tells you otherwise for a starting dose.
Possible Side Effects
COMMON
- •Stomach problems like diarrhea, stomach pain, indigestion, or heartburn. You might also get a headache, feel sick (nausea) or throw up (vomiting), have constipation, or feel bloated with gas. Some people also get skin rashes, itching, dizziness, or a tingling/numb feeling.
RARE
- •Feeling dizzy or like the room is spinning (vertigo), or men might notice enlarged breasts. Very rarely, you could get yellow skin/eyes (jaundice), severe stomach pain, fever, trouble breathing, or allergic reactions that make you feel hot, faint, or cause swelling in your mouth or skin with blisters/rashes. Other rare effects include sore mouth, low blood pressure, confusion, seeing or hearing things that aren't there (hallucinations), joint or muscle pain, changes in taste, or prolonged low blood sugar.
Important Warnings
- Do not take this medicine if you are allergic to clopidogrel or any other ingredients in it.
- Do not take if you have active bleeding, such as a stomach ulcer or bleeding in the brain.
- Do not take if you have severe liver disease.
- Contact your doctor right away if you get a fever, signs of infection, feel very tired, or if your skin or eyes turn yellow (jaundice), with or without small red spots under the skin.
- If you cut or injure yourself, the bleeding might take longer than usual to stop. If you are worried, contact your doctor immediately.

- Do not use this medicine if you are pregnant or breastfeeding. Talk to your doctor if you are or plan to be pregnant or breastfeed.
- Tell your doctor or dentist if you are planning any surgery, including dental procedures.
Use in Elderly Patients
Category C
Suitable for older adults, with specific precautions. Prodrug. Genotype affects the response. Consider potential interactions especially with other drugs that increase the risk of bleeding. Grapefruit reduces the response. (updated 19.9.2025)
