How to Use

Dosage

The usual daily dose for one treatment is about half a tablespoon (around 7.5 ml), which is enough for the entire scalp.

Method

Wash your hands and apply Clobex shampoo directly to a dry scalp once a day. Make sure to cover and massage all affected areas well. Leave the shampoo on for 15 minutes without covering your head, then add water, rinse, and dry your hair as usual.

Important

Do not use for more than four weeks.

Possible Side Effects

COMMON
  • Burning sensation on the skin.
  • Inflammation of one or more hair follicles.
RARE
  • Hormone disorders (like issues with adrenal glands or Cushing's syndrome).
  • Stinging or burning sensation in the eyes.
  • Eye irritation.
  • Feeling of tightness in the eye.
  • Glaucoma (a serious eye condition).
  • Hypersensitivity (allergic reaction).
  • Headache.
  • Skin pain.
  • Skin discomfort.
  • Itching.
  • Acne.
  • Skin swelling.
  • Telangiectasia (visible blood vessels under the skin).
  • Worsening of psoriasis.
  • Hair loss.
  • Dry skin.
  • Hives (urticaria).
  • Skin thinning (atrophy).
  • Skin irritation.
  • Skin tightness.
  • Allergic contact dermatitis.
  • Redness.
  • Rash.

Important Warnings

  • Do not use if you are allergic to clobetasol propionate or any other ingredient in this medicine.
  • Do not use if you have skin infections caused by bacteria, viruses, fungi, or parasites.
  • Do not use if you have open sores or weeping wounds on your scalp.
  • Do not use for children under 2 years of age.
  • Do not use Clobex shampoo in your eyes or on your eyelids.

  • Only use Clobex shampoo on your scalp; do not use it like regular shampoo or on other skin areas.
  • Do not cover the treated area, for example, do not use a shower cap.
  • Avoid contact with your face, eyelids, armpits, broken skin, and genital areas.
  • If Clobex shampoo gets into your eyes, rinse them thoroughly with water.
  • If this medicine is prescribed for a child or a young person under 18, check with the doctor weekly before continuing treatment.
  • Do not swallow the shampoo.
  • Using Clobex shampoo on your face can cause a rash around your mouth.
  • Rinse Clobex shampoo thoroughly to avoid interactions with hair dyes, such as changes in hair color.
