How to Use

Dosage

Your doctor will decide your dose based on your age, weight, and health condition.

Method

The medicine is given as an infusion into a vein. Before use, the two compartments of the bag must be mixed together by rolling the bag.

Important

The maximum daily dose for Clinimix N9G15E is 40 ml per kilogram of body weight, and for Clinimix N17G35E it is 30 ml per kilogram of body weight.

Possible Side Effects

COMMON
  • Inflammation, irritation, pain, redness, or swelling at the infusion site.
  • Nausea, vomiting, chills, headache, excessive sweating.
RARE
  • Anaphylaxis (a severe allergic reaction that can be life-threatening).
  • High blood sugar, ammonia, and nitrogen compound levels in the blood.
  • Impaired liver function or abnormal liver test results.
  • Gallbladder inflammation, gallstones.
  • Glucose in urine.
  • Diabetic coma.
  • Formation of small particles that block blood vessels in the lungs.
  • Abnormal blood pressure (low or high), blue or red skin, rapid heart rate, difficulty breathing, rash, fever, shaking.

Important Warnings

  • Do not use Clinimix if you are allergic to this medicine or any of its ingredients.
  • Do not use Clinimix if you have disorders of amino acid metabolism.
  • Do not use Clinimix if you have too much sugar in your blood (severe hyperglycemia).
  • Do not use Clinimix if your blood is too acidic (metabolic acidosis).
  • Do not use Clinimix if your blood sodium, potassium, magnesium, calcium, and/or phosphate levels are too high.

  • Clinimix contains calcium and should not be given at the same time as the antibiotic ceftriaxone, as this can form particles.
  • Prevent infection risk by using good hygiene during catheter placement and care.
  • If you have liver, kidney, adrenal, heart, or circulatory problems, your doctor will monitor your condition closely.
  • Do not connect multiple bags together to avoid air entering your bloodstream.
  • Tell your doctor if you are pregnant, breastfeeding, or planning to become pregnant.
  • Glucose-containing solutions should be used with caution if you are allergic to corn.
  • Excessive addition of calcium and phosphate can lead to precipitates in the lungs or blood vessels, which can be life-threatening. Report breathing difficulties to your doctor.
  • Do not start this medicine if you have severe fluid or electrolyte imbalances or metabolic problems.
  • Use with caution in patients with kidney or adrenal insufficiency or heart failure.
