How to Use

Dosage

Apply once daily.

Method

Cleanse and dry your face thoroughly. Apply a thin layer of gel with your fingertips to the entire affected skin area in the evening, not just on individual pimples.

Important

Do not use for more than 12 weeks at a time unless directed by your doctor.

Important Warnings

  • Do not use if you are allergic to clindamycin, lincomycin, benzoyl peroxide, or any other ingredients in this medicine.
  • For external use only. Avoid contact with eyes, lips, mouth, or inside the nose. If contact occurs, rinse thoroughly with water.
  • Do not apply Clindoxyl gel to irritated skin, such as wounds, scrapes, sunburned, or broken skin.
  • Most people experience some redness and peeling during the first few weeks. If your skin gets very irritated (severe redness, dryness, itching, stinging, or burning), stop treatment and consult your doctor.
  • Clindoxyl gel may bleach colored fabrics, such as clothes, towels, and bedding, and can also lighten hair. Avoid contact with these materials.

  • This gel can make your skin more sensitive to sunlight. Avoid sunbeds, sunlamps, and minimize sun exposure. Use sunscreen and wear protective clothing while using this medicine.
  • Tell your doctor or pharmacist before using this medicine if you have a history of inflammatory bowel disease (Crohn's disease, ulcerative colitis) or antibiotic-associated colitis.
  • Stop using the gel and contact your doctor immediately if you develop stomach cramps or severe or persistent diarrhea.
  • If you have recently used other medicines containing clindamycin or erythromycin, Clindoxyl gel might not work as well. Inform your doctor or pharmacist about these.
  • Do not use this medicine in children under 12 years of age.
  • If you are pregnant, planning to become pregnant, or breastfeeding, consult your doctor or pharmacist before using this medicine. Do not apply to the chest area if breastfeeding.
