How to Use

Dosage

Apply Clindonix gel once daily in the evening.

Method

Cleanse your face thoroughly, then apply a thin layer of gel with your fingertips to all acne-affected areas, not just individual spots. For the face, use a fingertip-length amount of gel; for face and back, use 2.5 fingertip-length amounts.

Important

Do not use for more than 12 weeks at a time without consulting your doctor. Follow your doctor's instructions for the duration of treatment.

  • Tingling sensation (unusual feeling)

  • Skin redness and itching at the application site
  • Rash (skin inflammation, red rash)
  • Intense burning, flaking, or itching of the skin
  • Skin discoloration
  • Itchy bumps (hives) at the application site
  • Allergic reactions (e.g., swelling of face, eyes, lips or tongue, hives, breathing difficulties, fainting)
  • Intestinal inflammation, severe or long-lasting diarrhea (including bloody diarrhea), stomach cramps or pain

Important Warnings

  • Do not use Clindonix if you are allergic to clindamycin, lincomycin, benzoyl peroxide, or any other ingredient in this medicine.
  • If you experience severe or persistent stomach cramps or diarrhea, stop using Clindonix and contact your doctor immediately.
  • Use Clindonix only on your skin. Avoid getting the product in your eyes, lips, mouth, or nose.
  • Do not use Clindonix gel on irritated skin areas, such as wounds, abrasions, sunburned skin, or broken skin.
  • Stop treatment and see a doctor if skin irritation is severe (severe redness, dryness, itching, tingling, or burning) or does not improve.

  • Clindonix gel can make your skin more sensitive to sunlight. Avoid sunbeds/sunlamps and minimize sun exposure. Use sunscreen and protective clothing during Clindonix treatment.
  • Avoid Clindonix gel contact with colored textiles like clothes, towels, bedding, furniture, or carpets, as it may bleach these materials. Clindonix gel can also bleach hair.
  • Do not use this medicine for children under 12 years of age.
  • Do not use Clindonix gel at the same time as medicines containing erythromycin.
  • Using Clindonix gel at the same time as medicines like dapsone and sulfacetamide can temporarily change the color of your skin or facial hair to yellow/orange. This color change is not permanent.
  • Tell your doctor or pharmacist if you are going to have surgery.
  • If you are pregnant, breastfeeding, think you may be pregnant, or are planning to have a baby, ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before using this medicine.
  • If you are breastfeeding, do not apply Clindonix gel to the chest area.
