How to Use

Dosage

Your doctor will tell you how much to take. It's different for everyone.

Method

Swallow the whole capsule with a full glass of water. Do this at least 30 minutes before lying down to prevent throat irritation.

Important

Always follow your doctor's instructions carefully for your full treatment course. Do not take more than your doctor prescribes.

Possible Side Effects

  • Severe bowel inflammation
  • Diarrhea

RARE
  • Vomiting
  • Nausea
  • Spotted and bumpy rash
  • Hives
  • Bowel inflammation from antibiotics
  • Vaginal infection
  • Too few specific white blood cells (agranulocytosis)
  • Too few neutrophils
  • Low number of platelets
  • Too few white blood cells (leukopenia)
  • Increase in certain white blood cells (eosinophilia)
  • Severe allergic reactions, hypersensitivity
  • Changes in taste
  • Throat sores, throat inflammation
  • Yellow skin or eyes (jaundice)
  • Severe skin reactions (e.g., blisters, peeling skin, widespread rash)
  • Local skin swelling, scaly skin rash, blistering skin rash, widespread red rash, itching, rash like measles.

Important Warnings

  • Do not take this medicine if you are allergic to clindamycin, lincomycin, or any other ingredients in the medicine.
  • Talk to your doctor if you have or have had any bowel disease.
  • If you get severe, bloody, or long-lasting diarrhea during or after treatment, contact your doctor right away.
  • Tell your doctor about all medicines you are taking and any kidney problems you have. If you notice swelling in your legs, shortness of breath, or nausea, contact your doctor right away.
  • Always take the capsules exactly as instructed to avoid problems with your throat.

  • Tell your doctor if you are taking muscle relaxants, rifampicin (an antibiotic), or blood thinners (like warfarin).
  • Talk to your doctor if you are pregnant, breastfeeding, or planning to become pregnant. If you are breastfeeding, do not take this medicine without your doctor's instruction, as it can cause diarrhea or rash in the baby.
  • This medicine contains lactose. If you have been told you have an intolerance to some sugars, talk to your doctor before taking this medicine.
