How to Use

Dosage

Your doctor will decide your dose, which is usually 1-2 ml of Cisordinol Depot 200 mg/ml or 1 ml of Cisordinol Depot 500 mg/ml.

Method

The medicine is given as an injection into a muscle, usually in the buttock.

Important

Injections are usually given every 1-4 weeks. If the dose is more than 2 ml, it will be divided into two different injection sites.

  • Rash
  • Abnormal skin reactions to sunlight

  • Ringing in the ears
  • Increased sexual desire
  • Stomach pain
  • Nausea
  • Thirst
  • Low blood pressure
  • Blocked nose
  • Shortness of breath
  • Erection and ejaculation problems (in men)
  • Difficulty achieving orgasm (in women)
  • Fainting
  • Hot flashes
  • Redness or soreness at the injection site
  • Changes in heart's electrical activity (prolonged QT interval, arrhythmias)
  • Blood clots (swelling, pain, redness in legs; chest pain, breathing difficulties)

Important Warnings

  • Do not take this medicine if you are allergic to zuclopenthixol or any other ingredients in this medicine.
  • Do not use if you have reduced consciousness, abnormal blood conditions, or a rare adrenal gland tumor called pheochromocytoma.
  • Not recommended for children or adolescents.
  • Avoid alcohol during treatment, as it can increase drowsiness.
  • This medicine can cause drowsiness and dizziness. Do not drive or use machines until you know how it affects you.

  • Seek immediate medical attention if you experience high fever, unusual muscle stiffness, changes in consciousness, involuntary movements of the mouth or tongue, yellow skin or eyes, or symptoms of a blood clot (swelling, pain, and redness in the legs, chest pain, breathing difficulties).
  • There have been slightly more deaths reported in elderly patients with dementia using antipsychotic medicines.
