How to Use

Method

This medicine is given as a single shot into a vein (bolus injection) or as a slow, continuous drip into a vein (infusion).

  • Slow heart rate
  • Low blood pressure
RARE
  • Rash or red skin
  • Wheezing or asthma-like symptoms (bronchospasm)
  • Muscle weakness or disorder
  • Sudden wheezing, chest pain, or a tight feeling in the chest (severe allergic reaction)
  • Swelling of eyelids, face, lips, mouth, or tongue (severe allergic reaction)
  • Raised bumpy rash or hives anywhere on your body (severe allergic reaction)
  • Fainting and shock (severe allergic reaction)

Important Warnings

  • Do not use this medicine if you are allergic to cisatracurium, atracurium, or benzenesulfonic acid.
  • Tell your doctor if you have muscle weakness, tiredness, or trouble coordinating movements (myasthenia gravis).
  • Inform your doctor if you have a nerve-muscle disease like muscle wasting, paralysis, motor neuron disease, or CP syndrome.
  • Let your doctor know if you have severe burns that need medical care.
  • Tell your doctor if you have a severe imbalance in your body's acid-base or electrolyte levels.

  • Tell your doctor if you have ever had an allergic reaction to another muscle relaxant given during surgery.
  • This medicine should not be given to babies younger than one month old.
