The medicine is given as an injection into a vein (single dose) or as a slow, continuous infusion into a vein.

Possible Side Effects

COMMON
  • Slowed heart rate
  • Low blood pressure
RARE
  • Rash or skin redness
  • Wheezing or coughing
  • Sudden wheezing, chest pain or tightness
  • Swelling of eyelids, face, lips, mouth or tongue
  • Raised rash or hives anywhere on your body
  • Fainting and shock
  • Muscle weakness or pain

Important Warnings

  • Do not use if you are allergic to cisatracurium, any other muscle relaxant, or any other ingredient in this medicine.
  • Do not use if you have previously had a bad reaction to an anesthetic.
  • Tell your doctor if you have muscle weakness, tiredness, or difficulty coordinating movements (myasthenia gravis).
  • Tell your doctor if you have a neuromuscular disease, such as muscular dystrophy, paralysis, motor neuron disease, or cerebral palsy.
  • Tell your doctor if you have a burn that needs medical treatment.

  • If you are breastfeeding, you should wait 3 hours after treatment before resuming breastfeeding.
  • Do not drive or operate machinery too soon after your procedure, as this medicine can affect your ability to concentrate.
