How to Use

Dosage

Your doctor will determine your exact dose, which depends on your body weight and the condition being treated; it typically ranges from 2 to 15 mg per kilogram of body weight daily.

Method

Take your total daily dose split into two doses. Remove the capsules from the blister and swallow them whole with water.

Important

Do not exceed the prescribed dose. For patients with kidney problems, the initial daily dose should not exceed 2.5 mg per kilogram of body weight.

  • Nerve problems causing numbness or tingling in fingers and toes
  • Pancreatitis with severe upper abdominal pain
  • Muscle weakness, loss of muscle strength, or muscle pain in limbs or body
  • Breakdown of red blood cells leading to kidney problems, swelling, reduced urination, breathing difficulties, chest pain, seizures, or unconsciousness
  • Changes in menstrual cycle, breast enlargement in men
  • Swelling behind the eye, potentially with increased pressure in the head and vision problems

Important Warnings

  • Do not take Ciqorin if you are allergic to ciclosporin or any other ingredients in this medicine.
  • Avoid taking Ciqorin with St. John's Wort, dabigatran etexilate, bosentan, or aliskiren.
  • Tell your doctor immediately if you have signs of infection like fever or sore throat, as Ciqorin weakens your immune system.
  • Inform your doctor if you have liver or kidney problems, as your dose may need adjustment.
  • Your blood pressure will be checked regularly; tell your doctor if it rises.

  • Tell your doctor if you need to be vaccinated.
  • Limit exposure to sunlight and UV light and use sun protection, as Ciqorin increases the risk of skin cancer.
  • Do not take Ciqorin with grapefruit or grapefruit juice, as it can affect how the medicine works.
  • Ciqorin is generally not recommended during pregnancy or breastfeeding; consult your doctor.
  • Ciqorin may cause drowsiness, confusion, or blurred vision; be careful when driving or operating machinery until you know how it affects you.
  • Do not stop taking Ciqorin without your doctor's advice, as this may increase the risk of organ rejection or worsening of your condition.
