How to Use

Dosage

Your doctor will decide your dose based on your weight and condition, usually between 2 and 15 mg per kilogram of body weight per day, divided into two doses.

Method

Swallow the capsules whole with water.

Important

The maximum daily dose is set by your doctor and should not be exceeded; if you have kidney problems, it typically won't exceed 2.5 mg per kg of body weight.

RARE
  • Brain problems like confusion, memory loss, trouble seeing or speaking
  • Skin rash
  • Body swelling
  • Weight gain
  • Low red blood cells or platelets, increasing bleeding risk
  • Pancreatitis (inflammation of the pancreas), with severe upper abdominal pain
  • Muscle weakness or loss of muscle strength
  • Red blood cells breaking down, linked to kidney issues (symptoms: swelling, reduced urination, breathing trouble)
  • Changes in periods for women, breast growth for men
  • Swelling behind the eye with possible increased pressure in the head and vision problems
  • Severe liver problems with yellowing of skin/eyes, dark urine, or whole-body swelling
  • Unusual bleeding or bruising, or purple spots on the skin without clear cause
  • Migraine or severe headache, often with nausea/vomiting and sensitivity to light
  • Pain in shins and feet
  • Hearing loss

Important Warnings

  • Do not take Ciqorin if you are allergic to ciclosporin or any other ingredient in this medicine.
  • Avoid taking with St. John's Wort, dabigatran etexilate, bosentan, or aliskiren.
  • Ciqorin weakens your immune system, increasing your risk of infections and certain cancers, especially skin cancer. Tell your doctor if you have signs of infection like fever or sore throat.
  • Your doctor will regularly check your liver and kidney function with blood tests, as Ciqorin can affect these organs.
  • Ciqorin can raise your blood pressure; your doctor will check it regularly and may prescribe medication if needed.

  • Do not take Ciqorin with grapefruit or grapefruit juice, as they can affect how the medicine works.
  • Ciqorin is generally not recommended during pregnancy or breastfeeding; talk to your doctor if you are pregnant, planning to be, or breastfeeding.
  • Do not stop taking Ciqorin suddenly without talking to your doctor, as this can increase the risk of organ rejection if you've had a transplant.
