How to Use
Dosage
Typical starting dose for adults is 30 mg once or twice daily, depending on the condition; for children aged 3-18 with secondary hyperparathyroidism, it is up to 0.20 mg/kg daily.
Method
Take Cinacalcet Orion tablets by mouth, with or immediately after food. Tablets must be swallowed whole; do not chew, crush, or divide them.
Important
Your doctor will determine the maximum daily dose based on your condition. For adults, initial doses typically range up to 60 mg per day.

- •Nausea and vomiting

RARE
- •Hives (urticaria)
- •Swelling of the face, lips, mouth, tongue or throat, which may cause difficulty swallowing or breathing (angioedema)
- •Unusually fast or powerful heartbeat, which may be due to very low blood calcium (prolonged QT interval and ventricular arrhythmia secondary to hypocalcaemia)
Important Warnings
- Do not take this medicine if you are allergic to cinacalcet or any other ingredients.
- Do not take this medicine if your blood calcium levels are too low.
- Tell your doctor immediately if you have muscle cramps, twitching, numbness around your mouth, or seizures, as these are signs of very low calcium.
- Seek immediate medical help if you experience swelling of your face, lips, mouth, tongue, or throat, which can cause difficulty swallowing or breathing.
- Inform your doctor if you have a history of seizures, liver problems, or heart failure.
