How to Use

Dosage

The recommended dose is usually 160 micrograms once a day. For some patients, 80 micrograms once a day may be enough.

Method

This medicine is taken using an inhaler, breathing it in through your mouth into your lungs. Usually, you take one or two puffs once a day, either in the morning or evening. Breathe in slowly and deeply while taking the puff.

Important

The maximum daily dose can be 640 micrograms.

Possible Side Effects

RARE
  • Hoarseness
  • Burning, inflammation, or irritation in the mouth or throat
  • Oral thrush (fungal infection in the mouth)
  • Headache
  • Bad taste in mouth
  • Dry mouth or throat
  • Nausea or vomiting
  • Heart palpitations (heart pounding)
  • Stomach discomfort or pain
  • High blood pressure

Important Warnings

  • This medicine is not for sudden, severe breathing problems. Use a separate rescue inhaler for quick relief in those situations.
  • Do not use if you are allergic to ciclesonide or any other ingredients in this medicine.
  • Contact your doctor right away if your breathing gets worse or if your asthma symptoms (like coughing, wheezing, or chest tightness) get worse. If your breathing starts to wheeze or feel tight after using Ciclesonide Sandoz: do not take more puffs, use your rescue inhaler to help your breathing, and contact your doctor immediately.
