How to Use

Dosage

The usual dose is 160 micrograms once a day. Some people may need only 80 micrograms once a day. Your doctor will tell you your exact dose.

Method

Use your inhaler once a day, either in the morning or in the evening. You might take one or two puffs as instructed by your doctor.

Important

Do not take more than 640 micrograms per day. This means up to two 320 microgram puffs, twice a day, if your doctor tells you to.

Possible Side Effects

RARE
  • Severe allergic reactions (swelling of lips, tongue, or throat).
  • Allergic skin reactions (rash, redness, itching, or hives).
  • Worsening cough or wheezing after using the inhaler.
  • Hoarseness.
  • Burning, inflammation, or irritation in your mouth or throat.
  • Oral thrush (a fungal infection in the mouth).
  • Headache.
  • Changes in taste.
  • Dry mouth or throat.
  • Nausea or vomiting.
  • Palpitations (feeling your heart beat fast or irregularly).
  • Abdominal discomfort or pain.
  • High blood pressure.
  • Sleep problems, feeling down, worried, restless, nervous, or easily annoyed (more common in children).
  • Blurry vision.

Important Warnings

  • This medicine is not for sudden breathing problems. Use your rescue inhaler for sudden asthma attacks.
  • Do not use if you are allergic to ciclesonide or any other ingredient in this medicine.
  • Tell your doctor if you have ever had or are currently being treated for lung tuberculosis, fungal, viral, or bacterial infections.
  • Contact your doctor right away if your breathing gets worse, you wake up at night due to symptoms, your rescue inhaler doesn't help, or if you feel wheezing or chest tightness after using Ciclesonide Orifarm. Do not take more puffs of this medicine if your breathing worsens; use your rescue inhaler.
  • Contact your doctor if you experience blurry vision or other eye problems.
