How to Use

Dosage

Your doctor will tell you how much to take. The usual dose is 160 micrograms once daily, but some may need 80 micrograms.

Method

Inhale one or two puffs into your lungs once daily, either in the morning or evening. Use it every day, even if you feel better.

Important

The maximum daily dose is 640 micrograms, taken as two 320 microgram doses.

Possible Side Effects

COMMON
  • Hoarseness
  • Stinging, inflammation, or irritation in the mouth or throat
  • Oral thrush (a fungal infection in the mouth)
  • Headache
  • Bad taste in your mouth
  • Dry mouth or throat
  • Feeling sick or throwing up (nausea or vomiting)
RARE
  • Feeling your heart beat fast or unevenly (palpitations)
  • Stomach upset or pain (abdominal discomfort or pain)
  • High blood pressure
  • Sleep problems, feeling sad or worried, restlessness, nervousness, being overly excited or irritable (more common in children)
  • Blurred vision

Important Warnings

  • Do not use this medicine if you are allergic to ciclesonide or any other ingredient.
  • This medicine is not for sudden, severe breathing problems; use your quick-relief asthma inhaler for those.
  • Contact your doctor right away if your asthma symptoms get worse, you wake up at night because of your symptoms, your quick-relief inhaler doesn't help, or if your vision becomes blurry.
