How to Use

Dosage

The usual dose is 160 micrograms once daily; for some, 80 micrograms once daily may be enough to control asthma.

Method

Inhale the medicine through your mouth into your lungs. Take 1 or 2 puffs once daily, either in the morning or evening, regularly every day.

Important

The maximum daily dose is 640 micrograms, divided into two doses (2 x 320 micrograms).

Possible Side Effects

COMMON
  • Hoarseness
  • Burning, inflammation, or irritation in the mouth or throat
  • Oral thrush (fungal infection in the mouth)
  • Headache
  • Unpleasant taste in mouth
  • Dry mouth or throat
  • Nausea or vomiting
RARE
  • Palpitations (feeling your heart beat fast)
  • Stomach discomfort or pain
  • High blood pressure

Important Warnings

  • This medicine is not for sudden breathing problems; use your quick-relief inhaler for those attacks.
  • Do not use if you are allergic to ciclesonide or any other ingredient in this medicine.
  • Contact your doctor immediately if your breathing problems or asthma symptoms worsen, if you wake up at night due to symptoms, or if your quick-relief inhaler doesn't help.
  • Contact your doctor if you experience blurred vision or other eye problems.
  • This medicine is not recommended for children under 12 years due to lack of information on possible side effects.

  • If you need to use your quick-relief inhaler more than 2-3 times a week, contact your doctor to review your medication.
  • If your breathing becomes wheezy or you feel tightness in your chest right after using Ciclesonide Glenmark, do not take more puffs, use your quick-relief inhaler, and contact your doctor immediately.
  • If you are pregnant, think you might be pregnant, or are breastfeeding, talk to your doctor about the risks and benefits of using this inhaler.
  • Do not stop using Ciclesonide Glenmark, even if you feel better, without consulting your doctor.
  • If you have taken too much medicine or if a child has accidentally taken it, contact a doctor or poison control center immediately for advice.
