Ceftazidim MIP Pharma is an antibiotic that helps fight bacterial infections in adults and children by killing the harmful bacteria.
The dose depends on your weight, age, and infection. For newborns (0-2 months), it's 25-60 mg per kg per day in two doses. For infants over 2 months and children under 40 kg, it's 100-150 mg per kg per day in three doses. For adults and adolescents (40 kg or more), it's 1-2 g three times a day.
Ceftazidim MIP Pharma is usually given by a doctor or nurse as a drip into a vein (infusion) or as an injection into a vein or muscle.
For children under 40 kg, the maximum daily dose is 6 g. For adults and adolescents (40 kg or more), the maximum daily dose is 9 g. For patients over 65, the daily dose should not normally exceed 3 g, especially for those over 80 years old.
