How to Use
Dosage
Your doctor will determine your dose, usually between 5-20 micrograms per injection.
Method
Inject the medicine into your penis as shown by your doctor. After injecting, gently massage the penis.
Important
Do not use more than one injection per day or more than three times a week. The maximum dose is 40 micrograms.
Possible Side Effects
COMMON
- •Pain in the penis
- •Bruising, scar tissue, or bending of the penis, especially with long-term use.
- •Prolonged erection
- •Other penis problems
- •Swelling, discoloration, or bruising at the injection site.
- •Muscle cramps
RARE
- •Irritation, inflammation, swelling, itching, bleeding, numbness, warmth, tenderness, or pain at the injection site.
- •Redness, swelling, or tenderness in the testicles or scrotum, or developing a spermatocele (sperm-filled cyst). Numbness in the penis.
- •Uncomfortable, painful, or prolonged erection, or no erection at all. Changes in ejaculation, tight or swollen foreskin, or problems with the tip of the penis.
- •Frequent or urgent need to urinate, painful or difficult urination. Small amounts of blood in urine or from the tip of the penis.
- •Pelvic pain, weakness, sweating, nausea, swollen legs or arms, cold symptoms, dry mouth, or yeast infection.
- •Itching, redness, rash, or skin growths at the injection site. Increased sweating, light sensitivity, enlarged pupils, changed touch sensitivity, leg cramps, cold hands and feet, or vein bleeding.
- •Increased creatinine levels in blood tests.
- •Insufficient blood flow to the heart muscle (coronary artery disease) or stroke.
Important Warnings
- If you have an erection that lasts longer than 4 hours, seek medical help right away (within 6 hours).
- Do not use this medicine if you are allergic to alprostadil or any other ingredients.
- Do not use if you have certain blood disorders like sickle cell anemia, leukemia, or multiple myeloma, as these increase the risk of a long-lasting erection.
- Do not use if you have a penis implant.
- Do not use if your doctor has told you to avoid sexual activity due to a health condition (e.g., severe heart disease).

- Do not use if you have a curved or scarred penis, or Peyronie's disease.
- This medicine does not protect you or your partner from sexually transmitted infections (STIs). Use a condom to prevent STIs.
