How to Use

Dosage

The usual dose is 1 to 2 sachets per day, taken as a single dose in the morning. Your doctor might adjust this dose.

Method

Dissolve the powder from one sachet in a glass with at least 125 ml of water. Drink it right away. It's good to drink 125 ml of water after each dose.

Important

Do not take more than 2 sachets in a single day. Children should not use this medicine for more than 3 months without a doctor's review.

Possible Side Effects

COMMON
  • Stomach ache
  • Diarrhea (which might make the skin around the bottom sore)
  • Feeling sick (nausea)
  • Bloated stomach
RARE
  • Vomiting
  • Sudden strong urge to go to the toilet
  • Leaking stool (fecal incontinence)
  • Severe allergic reactions (like itching, rash, swelling of face or throat, hives, or shock). Stop taking and see a doctor immediately.
  • Changes in blood salt levels (like low sodium or potassium).
  • Getting very dehydrated from severe diarrhea, especially if you are elderly.
  • Redness of the skin.

Important Warnings

  • Do not take if you are allergic to macrogol (PEG) or any other ingredient in this medicine.
  • Do not take if you have severe bowel diseases like ulcerative colitis, Crohn's disease, or a perforated (hole in your) bowel.
  • Do not take if you have stomach pain you don't know the cause of, or if your bowel is blocked or you suspect it is.
  • If you get severe diarrhea, especially if you are elderly, have liver/kidney problems, or take water pills (diuretics), see a doctor. You might lose important body salts and need a blood test.
  • Casenlax can make other medicines work less well. Always tell your doctor or pharmacist about all medicines you are taking.
