How to Use

Dosage

The starting dose is usually 3.125 mg twice daily, but your doctor will adjust the dose based on your condition.

Method

Swallow the tablets whole with a glass of water, with food. Do not chew the tablets.

Important

The maximum daily dose can be up to 100 mg, depending on your condition and weight.

  • Poor circulation in hands or feet (coldness, numbness, tingling, pain, or discoloration)

  • Skin reactions such as allergic rash, skin inflammation, hives, or itching
  • Psoriasis or psoriasis-like skin reactions
  • Erectile dysfunction
  • Constipation
  • Low platelet count (may cause easy bruising or nosebleeds)
  • Nasal congestion
  • Dry mouth
  • Low white blood cell count (may cause infection symptoms, unexplained fever, or sore throat)
  • Severe allergic reactions (such as sudden swelling of the throat, face, or hands/feet, or difficulty breathing/swallowing)
  • Liver problems (indicated by increased liver enzyme values)
  • Urinary incontinence in women
  • Certain mental disorders (e.g., psychoses)
  • Hair loss
  • Excessive sweating

Important Warnings

  • Do not take if you are allergic to carvedilol or any other ingredients.
  • Do not take if you have severe heart failure, cardiogenic shock, very slow heart rate (below 50 bpm), or very low blood pressure (below 85 mmHg systolic).
  • Do not take if you have a history of narrowed airways or asthma.
  • Do not take if you have severe liver problems.
  • Do not stop taking Carvedilol Hexal suddenly, especially if you have coronary artery disease, as it can worsen your condition. Your doctor will gradually reduce your dose.

  • If you have diabetes, monitor your blood sugar closely, as this medicine may hide symptoms of low blood sugar.
  • Tell your doctor if you have poor circulation in your hands or feet, which may cause coldness, numbness, tingling, pain, or discoloration.
  • Inform your doctor if you are going to have surgery or anesthesia, as this medicine can cause your blood pressure to drop too low.
  • Seek immediate medical attention if you experience severe allergic reactions, such as sudden swelling of the throat, face, lips, mouth, or difficulty breathing or swallowing.
  • Do not use this medicine if you are breastfeeding.

Category A
