How to Use

Dosage

Your doctor will tell you the exact dose. It often starts low, like 3.125 mg to 12.5 mg, taken once or twice a day. The dose may be slowly increased.

Method

Swallow the tablets whole with a glass of water, with food. Do not chew them.

Important

The maximum daily dose depends on your condition and weight, but can be up to 50 mg twice a day.

Important Warnings

  • Do not take Carvedilol Hexal if you are allergic to carvedilol or any other ingredients in this medicine.
  • Do not take if you have severe heart failure requiring IV treatment, severe liver problems, or a very slow heart rate (below 50 beats per minute).
  • Do not stop taking Carvedilol Hexal suddenly. Your dose should be slowly reduced over two weeks, as directed by your doctor.
  • Avoid alcohol while taking Carvedilol Hexal, as it can make the effects of alcohol stronger.
  • This medicine can cause dizziness or fainting, especially when you first start taking it or when the dose is increased. Do not drive or use machines if you feel dizzy or weak.
