How to Use

Dosage

The usual dose is 800 mg (2 capsules) once a day for three months. In more severe cases, the dose can be 1200 mg (3 capsules) daily for the first 4-6 weeks, then 800 mg daily for the rest of the three-month period.

Method

Swallow the capsules whole with a glass of water. Do not chew them.

Important

The maximum daily dose is 1200 mg (3 capsules).

Important Warnings

  • Do not use if you are allergic to chondroitin sulfate or any other ingredients in this medicine.
  • Talk to your doctor if you have heart failure or kidney disease, as this medicine may cause fluid retention and swelling.
  • Talk to your doctor if you have liver disease.
  • Be careful if you are taking medicines that affect blood clotting, such as warfarin or aspirin.
  • Cartexan is not recommended for children.

Use in Elderly Patients
