Cardovia is a beta-blocker medicine that slows your heart rate, helps your heart pump blood better, and treats stable long-term heart failure, high blood pressure, and chest pain.
Your doctor will tell you how much to take. Usually, treatment starts with a low dose, like 1.25 mg or 5 mg, once a day, and is slowly increased by your doctor.
Take one tablet with water in the morning, with or without food. Do not crush or chew the tablet. Some tablets can be divided in half.
The maximum daily dose is usually 10 mg for heart failure and 20 mg for high blood pressure or chest pain. For severe kidney or liver problems, it should not exceed 10 mg.
