Cardovia is a medicine that helps your heart beat slower and pump blood better, used for chronic heart failure, high blood pressure, and chest pain (angina).
For heart failure, your doctor will start you on a very low dose, usually 1.25 mg once daily, and increase it gradually. For high blood pressure or chest pain, the usual starting dose is 5 mg once daily.
Take the tablet with water in the morning, with or without food. Do not crush or chew the tablet.
The maximum daily dose is 10 mg for heart failure, and 20 mg for high blood pressure or chest pain. If you have severe kidney or liver problems, the maximum daily dose is 10 mg.
