How to Use

Dosage

The usual starting dose is 10 mg once a day. Your doctor may gradually increase your dose.

Method

Swallow the tablet whole with water once a day. You can take it with or without food, but try to take it at the same time each day.

Important

The maximum daily dose is usually 80 mg for high blood pressure.

Possible Side Effects

COMMON
  • Dizziness, especially when standing up.
  • Headache.
  • Cough.
  • Diarrhea.
  • Vomiting.
  • Kidney problems.
RARE
  • Mood changes.
  • Tingling or numbness in hands and feet.
  • Palpitations or fast heart rate.
  • Nausea or stomach pain.
  • Rash or itching (mild to moderate).
  • Fatigue or weakness (more persistent).
  • Confusion.
  • Dry mouth.
  • Hair loss.
  • Low blood sugar.
  • Swollen lymph nodes.
  • Changes in blood counts (e.g., anemia, reduced platelets or white blood cells).

Important Warnings

  • Do not use Cardiostad if you are allergic to lisinopril, any other ACE inhibitor, or if you have had a severe allergic reaction like swelling of your face, throat, or hands.
  • Do not use Cardiostad if you are more than 3 months pregnant, or if you are planning to become pregnant.
  • If you develop jaundice (yellow skin or eyes), severe rash, or blisters on your skin, stop taking the medicine and contact your doctor immediately.
  • Cardiostad can cause dizziness or tiredness, especially when you first start treatment. Make sure you don't have these symptoms before driving or operating machinery.
  • If your blood pressure drops too low (e.g., you feel weak or dizzy), lie down. If symptoms continue, contact your doctor.

Use in Elderly Patients

Category C

Suitable for older adults, with specific precautions. Reduce the dose in moderately severe renal impairment. Monitor renal function and potassium concentrations during the pharmacotherapy. Avoid concurrent use of NSAIDs. (updated 14.4.2025)
