How to Use

Dosage

Your doctor will decide your dose individually based on your condition and how you respond to treatment.

Method

Swallow the tablet whole with water. Do not split or crush it. Take the medicine regularly as directed by your doctor. Avoid taking tablets with protein-rich foods, such as meat, eggs, or cheese.

  • Muscle twitching
  • A strong urge to take more medicine than prescribed (dopaminergic dysregulation syndrome)
  • Strong urge to gamble, even with bad consequences
  • Changed or increased sexual interest or behavior
  • Uncontrolled shopping or spending
  • Eating large amounts of food very quickly (binge eating)
  • Compulsive eating

Important Warnings

  • Do not use if you are allergic to carbidopa, levodopa, or any other ingredients in this medicine.
  • Do not use if you are taking certain types of antidepressants called MAO inhibitors. You must stop these medicines at least two weeks before starting this medicine.
  • Do not use if you have narrow-angle glaucoma, which can cause a sudden increase in eye pressure.
  • Do not use if you have suspicious skin lesions or have had skin cancer.
  • Stop taking this medicine and contact a doctor immediately if you experience chest pain, irregular heartbeat, bleeding from the gut (blood in stool), severe muscle stiffness, high fever, sweating, changes in mental state, seizures, or severe allergic reactions (swelling, difficulty breathing).
