How to Use

Dosage

The usual dose is 2–3 tablets 2 or 3 times a day.

Method

Take the tablets with a glass of water.

Important

The maximum daily dose is usually 9 tablets.

Possible Side Effects

COMMON
  • nausea
  • vomiting
  • diarrhea
  • stomach pain
RARE
  • skin rash
  • hives
  • malaise with low blood pressure
  • blood clots, including sudden loss of vision in one eye due to a retinal artery blockage
  • lower back pain, blood in urine, reduced or absent urine flow due to kidney problems
  • seizures
  • vision disturbances, including color vision problems
  • allergic reactions

Important Warnings

  • You are allergic to tranexamic acid or any other ingredients in this medicine.
  • You have color vision disturbances.
  • You currently have a disease that causes blood clots.
  • You have a severe blood clotting disorder where clots start forming throughout the body (disseminated intravascular coagulation).
  • You have kidney problems.

  • You have had seizures in the past.
  • You have had blood in your urine, as Caprilon can cause urinary tract obstruction.
  • You have an increased risk of blood clots.
  • If you use Caprilon for a long time, your vision, especially color vision, should be regularly checked by an eye doctor.

Use in Elderly Patients

Category C

Suitable for older adults, with specific precautions. Reduce the dose already in mild renal impairment. (updated 5.6.2023)
