How to Use

Dosage

Vaginal pessary: One pessary once in the evening. Cream: Apply a thin layer 2-3 times a day.

Method

The vaginal pessary is inserted deep into the vagina with the applicator or a finger at bedtime, preferably lying on your back with legs slightly raised. The cream is applied to the clean, dry skin of the external genital area and anus.

Important

Vaginal pessary: One single dose. Cream: Maximum 3 times a day.

Important Warnings

  • Do not use if you are allergic to clotrimazole or any other ingredient in this medicine.
  • Do not start treatment without talking to a doctor if this is your first vaginal infection.
  • Do not use during the first three months of pregnancy without a doctor's advice.
  • Do not start treatment without talking to a doctor if you have frequent infections (more than two in the last six months).
  • Do not use if you are under 16 years old or past menopause without a doctor's consultation to check for other conditions.

  • Do not use if you have a fever (38°C or higher), lower stomach pain, back pain, foul-smelling vaginal discharge, nausea, vaginal bleeding, or shoulder pain.
  • Do not use during your period; finish treatment just before menstruation starts.
  • Do not use tampons, vaginal douches, spermicides, or other vaginal products at the same time as Canesten Soft Kombi.
  • Avoid sexual intercourse during treatment, as the infection can spread to your partner.
  • Canesten may make latex contraceptives (like condoms and diaphragms) less effective.
  • Do not swallow the vaginal pessary or cream.
