How to Use

Dosage

One vaginal tablet.

Method

Insert one vaginal tablet deep into the vagina at bedtime with the applicator for three nights. Lie on your back with legs slightly raised to make it easier.

Important

One vaginal tablet per day.

Important Warnings

  • Do not use this medicine if you are allergic to clotrimazole or any other ingredients.
  • Talk to a doctor before starting treatment if: this is your first vaginal infection, you are in the first three months of pregnancy, you have had more than two infections in the last six months, you are under 16 or past menopause, or you have a fever (38°C or higher), stomach pain, back pain, bad-smelling discharge from your vagina, feel sick, have vaginal bleeding, or shoulder pain. These could be signs of a more serious problem.
  • Do not use during your period. Stop treatment just before your period starts.
  • Do not use tampons, vaginal washes, spermicides, or other vaginal products at the same time as Canesten.
  • Avoid sex during treatment, as the infection can spread. Canesten may also make latex birth control (like condoms) less effective.

  • Do not swallow the vaginal tablets.
  • People under 16 should not use Canesten without a doctor's prescription.
  • If your symptoms do not get much better within seven days or if they get worse, contact your doctor right away.
  • If you are pregnant, do not use the applicator. Insert the tablet with your fingers to avoid harming your cervix.
