How to Use

Dosage

One tablet once a day.

Method

Swallow the tablet whole with water. Try to take it at the same time each day. The tablet can be divided in half.

Important

Do not take more than one tablet per day.

Possible Side Effects

COMMON
  • Changes in blood test results (e.g., low sodium, high or low potassium, high cholesterol, sugar, uric acid)
  • Dizziness, light-headedness, or weakness
  • Headache
  • Respiratory infection
RARE
  • Yellowing of the skin or eyes (jaundice)
  • Kidney problems (especially if you already have kidney or heart problems)
  • Sleep problems, depression, restlessness
  • Tingling or numbness in hands or feet
  • Temporary blurred vision
  • Abnormal heart rhythm
  • Inflammation of the pancreas (stomach pain)
  • Severe skin rashes (with blisters or peeling skin)
  • Cough

Important Warnings

  • Do not use if you are allergic to candesartan cilexetil, hydrochlorothiazide, any other ingredient in this medicine, or to sulfonamide medicines.
  • Do not use this medicine if you are more than three months pregnant, and it should also be avoided during early pregnancy, as it can harm your baby.
  • Do not use if you have severe kidney or liver problems, or a bile duct blockage.
  • Stop taking this medicine and contact a doctor immediately if you experience breathing difficulties, swelling of the face, lips, tongue, or throat, or severe skin itching.
  • If you experience blurred vision or eye pain, which could be signs of fluid buildup in the eye or increased eye pressure, contact a doctor immediately, as untreated it could lead to permanent vision loss.

  • Avoid sun and UV light exposure, as this medicine can increase the risk of skin cancer. If you notice any new skin changes, tell your doctor.

Use in Elderly Patients

Category C

Suitable for older adults, with specific precautions. Effectiveness is reduced in renal impairment. Consider risk of orthostatic hypotension and hyponatraemia and -kalemia. (updated 19.5.2025)
