How to Use

Dosage

The recommended dose is one tablet once a day.

Method

Swallow the tablet with water. Try to take it at the same time each day.

Important

Do not take more than one tablet per day unless your doctor tells you otherwise.

Possible Side Effects

COMMON
  • Changes in blood test results, such as low sodium (causing weakness, tiredness, muscle cramps), abnormal potassium levels (causing tiredness, weakness, irregular heartbeat, tingling), or high cholesterol, sugar, or uric acid.
  • Sugar in your urine, dizziness or lightheadedness, headache, or a respiratory infection.
RARE
  • Low blood pressure (may cause dizziness or fainting), loss of appetite, diarrhea, constipation, or stomach irritation.
  • Skin rash, hives, skin sensitive to sunlight, yellowing of the skin or eyes (jaundice), severe rash with peeling skin, blisters on skin or mouth, worsening of lupus-like reactions, or skin/lip cancer.
  • Changes in kidney function (especially if you have existing kidney or heart problems), trouble sleeping, feeling depressed, or restless.
  • Tingling or numbness in hands or feet, temporary blurred vision, sudden nearsightedness, or eye pain due to high pressure in the eye.
  • Irregular heartbeat, fever, muscle cramps, pancreas inflammation (severe stomach pain), blood vessel damage (red/purple spots on skin), changes in blood cell counts (feeling tired, getting infections or bruises easily), swelling of the face, lips, tongue, or throat, itching, back, joint, or muscle pain, liver problems (tiredness, yellow skin/eyes, flu-like symptoms), cough, nausea, sudden severe breathing problems, or swelling in the intestines (stomach pain, vomiting, diarrhea).

Important Warnings

  • Do not take this medicine if you are allergic to candesartan cilexetil, hydrochlorothiazide, sulfonamide medicines, or any other ingredients in this medicine.
  • Do not take this medicine if you are more than 3 months pregnant, as it can harm your baby. It is also best to avoid it in early pregnancy.
  • Do not take this medicine if you have severe liver or kidney disease.
  • Tell your doctor if you have had gout, or if you have very low potassium or high calcium in your blood. Also, inform your doctor if you have diabetes or kidney problems and are taking a blood pressure medicine called aliskiren.
  • Tell your doctor if you have had skin cancer or if you get new skin changes during treatment. Protect your skin from sun and UV light while taking this medicine.

  • Seek medical help immediately if you experience blurred vision or eye pain. These could be signs of fluid buildup in the eye or high eye pressure, especially if you have an allergy to penicillin or sulfonamides.
  • Seek immediate medical help if you develop severe shortness of breath or lung problems after taking this medicine, especially if you previously had breathing difficulties with hydrochlorothiazide.

Use in Elderly Patients

Category C

Suitable for older adults, with specific precautions. Effectiveness is reduced in renal impairment. Consider risk of orthostatic hypotension and hyponatraemia and -kalemia. (updated 19.5.2025)
