How to Use

Dosage

Take one tablet once a day.

Method

Swallow the tablet with water. Try to take it at the same time each day to help you remember.

Important

Do not take more than one tablet per day.

Possible Side Effects

COMMON
  • Changes in blood tests (e.g., low sodium causing weakness or muscle cramps; changes in potassium causing tiredness, weakness, heart rhythm problems, or tingling; high cholesterol, sugar, or uric acid).
  • Sugar in urine.
  • Dizziness, lightheadedness, or weakness.
  • Headache.
  • Respiratory tract infection (e.g., common cold).
  • Low blood pressure, causing dizziness or lightheadedness.
  • Loss of appetite, diarrhea, constipation, or stomach upset.
  • Skin rash, hives (itchy bumps), or a rash from sun sensitivity.
RARE
  • Yellowing of the skin or eyes (jaundice). If this happens, contact your doctor immediately.
  • Problems with kidney function, especially if you already have kidney or heart problems.
  • Sleep problems, feeling down (depression), or restlessness.
  • Tingling or numbness in hands or feet.
  • Temporary blurred vision.
  • Irregular heartbeat.
  • Pancreatitis (inflammation of the pancreas), causing moderate to severe stomach pain.
  • Muscle cramps.
  • Blood vessel damage, seen as red or purple spots on the skin.
  • Decrease in blood cells (red, white, or platelets), leading to tiredness, infections, fever, or easy bruising.
  • Severe rash that develops quickly, with peeling skin or blisters on the skin and possibly in the mouth.
  • Worsening of existing lupus-like reactions or unusual skin reactions.
  • Swelling of the face, lips, tongue, and/or throat.
  • Itching.
  • Back, joint, and muscle pain.
  • Changes in liver function, including hepatitis (liver inflammation), causing tiredness, yellow skin/eyes, and flu-like symptoms.
  • Cough.
  • Nausea.
  • Acute severe breathing difficulties (signs include severe shortness of breath, fever, weakness, and confusion).
  • Swelling in the intestines (intestinal angioedema), causing stomach pain, nausea, vomiting, and diarrhea.
  • Sudden nearsightedness.
  • Systemic and cutaneous lupus erythematosus (a serious allergic condition causing fever, joint pain, and skin rash with redness, blisters, or peeling).
  • Non-melanoma skin or lip cancer.
  • Vision decrease or eye pain due to high eye pressure (possible signs of fluid buildup in the eye or acute glaucoma).

Important Warnings

  • Do not take this medicine if you are allergic to candesartan cilexetil, hydrochlorothiazide, sulfonamide medicines, or any other ingredient in this medicine.
  • Do not use if you are more than 3 months pregnant, as it can seriously harm your baby. Avoid during early pregnancy too.
  • Do not take if you have severe liver or kidney problems, a bile duct blockage, or specific blood salt imbalances (like consistently low potassium or high calcium).
  • This medicine can make you feel tired or dizzy. If this happens, do not drive or use tools or machines.
  • Seek urgent medical help if you get sudden blurred vision or eye pain, as this could lead to permanent vision loss if not treated.

  • Protect your skin from sun and UV light. If you have had skin cancer or notice new skin changes during treatment, tell your doctor.

Use in Elderly Patients

Category C

Suitable for older adults, with specific precautions. Effectiveness is reduced in renal impairment. Consider risk of orthostatic hypotension and hyponatraemia and -kalemia. (updated 19.5.2025)
